1400-Series Casement and Awning


1400_profileEuroLine’s casement and awning windows are unsurpassed in energy saving features and quality of materials when compared to other casement and awning systems.

This window system is made with REHAU’s 1400-series uPVC profiles, which are believed to be the first vinyl window design to have earned a performance rating in the highest classification defined in the window industry (AAMA 101 “Architectural” Grade 70), and ROTO FRANK’s X-Drive multi-point locking hardware.

The 1400-series has features you’d only expect to find in more costly window systems:

  • made of uPVC
  • 4-chamber profiles with triple gaskets for superior thermal performance
  • contoured shape similar to fine millwork
  • custom sizes for new and replacement construction
  • reinforced frames and sashes
  • stainless steel, multi-point locking hardware with sturdy dual-arm rotary operator

  • concealed, adjustable “washability” hinges (some windows may require egress hinges instead)



1400-series windows are made from high-quality REHAU uPVC (unplasticized polyacrylate vinyl chloride).

The process by which uPVC is mixed together makes it stronger and less brittle than other types of PVC.

uPVC polymers exhibit outstanding light and weather resistance as well as colour durability. After 10,000 hours of exposure in the Weather-Ometer, no change in colour is discernible, the notch impact strength is scarcely altered, and there is no visible change in surface gloss.

High-impact resistant uPVC is essential during transportation and installation when window frames are subjected to bending and exposure to low external temperatures in winter. Under these conditions, cracking is much less likely with uPVC than with regular PVC.

Since uPVC contains no plasticizers or lead it is 100% recyclable, and – most importantly – it won’t make your family sick.

weldFrame and sash corners are fusion-welded for strength and to prevent air and water infiltration, as can happen with windows that are connected mechanically (e.g. fibreglass or aluminum windows).

The 1400-series features a 4-chamber system with thick outer walls. Each chamber acts as a thermal break, providing insulation and high thermal performance.

Thicker walls give the window more strength overall, and specifically in the corners, where more material means a better, stronger weld.

4-chamberThe smooth exterior makes the windows easy to clean with water and a mild soap.

Extruded profiles are available in white and beige.


reinforcementFrames, sashes and mullions of the 1400-series are reinforced with roll-formed galvanized steel that is fastened to the vinyl. The steel not only adds structural strength to the windows, but also provides increased security against break-ins.


sealThree EPDM (ethylene propylene diene Monomer) gaskets ensure a tight seal when the multi-point locking hardware is engaged, pulling the sash into frame.

EPDM gaskets are extremely long-lasting and resistant to wear. Due to its “memory”, EPDM returns to its original shape and state when uncompressed, resulting in many years of tight seals. It withstands extreme weather (-40°C to +150°C), ozone and UV without drying out or becoming brittle like regular rubber seals.

Finally, it is colourfast and will not discolour the vinyl profiles.


The 1400-series features stainless steel multi-point locking hardware by ROTO FRANK for superior corrosion resistance, super-smooth operation, and unsurpassed quality.

No matter how many times you open and close your windows, the sturdy dual-arm rotary operator guarantees trouble-free performance, while the multi-point locking hardware provides increased security and weather tightness.


glazing_beadEvery 1400-series window comes standard with a 22mm deep dual-pane insulated glass (IG) unit with a LoE (low emissivity) soft coating, argon gas fill, and warm edge spacer. Each pane of glass is at least 3mm thick.

A 34mm triple pane IG unit, as well as many other glass options, is also available.

The LoE soft coating improves energy efficiency by reflecting radiant heat from the sun back out in the summer, keeping the interior of the house cool, and reflecting radiant heat from heating back inside in the winter, resulting in less heating being needed.

In addition, the LoE coating also reduces UV transmittance, which helps save your furniture from fading.

Because argon gas is heavier than air, it is a better insulator. Using argon gas between the glass panes results in less heat transfer, which means less moisture and ice buildup on the glass.

spacerThe spacer that is used in the IG unit also plays a very important role in how it performs. Metal spacers not only transfer much more heat, they also are more likely to fail, allowing the argon gas to escape, moisture to enter, and mold to grow.

This is the reason why all EuroLine windows have a Super Spacer – a warm edge technology spacer that significantly improves glass performance. After a 5-year high-humidity test it was found that 99% of the argon was retained.

Since EuroLine does not use glazing tape and dry glazes all units, glass replacement is fast and easy if it ever becomes necessary. The glazing stops that are located on the interior (this is also for security, so the glass cannot be removed from the exterior) are taken out, the old glass unit is removed (this does not require any cutting and/or cleaning of glazing tape or silicone), the new unit inserted and the glazing stops replaced.

Air Infiltration

Windows are rated with respect to the rate of air infiltration per unit length of the window opening against winds at 40 km/h (25 mi/h).

Water Resistance

Wind Load
